Morning Boatman, Varanasi

Morning Boatman, Varanasi

The plan was all set to do an early morning photography session at Ram Nagar Fort in Varanasi. Accompanied by another batch mate from engineering college, we set out on an old Scooter towards the Ram Nagar fort to take photos with a Camera that our senior lent for the day. The bridge on the south of the city, which we were to cross to was way too scenic for us not stopping by to take a few snaps. Soon, after some shots over the bridge, we walked under the bridge to take a few more shots.

Fog, bridge, boats and boat man gave some dramatic shots.  (I probably would have had more, if the batch mate would have not tried to pose in every shot I would take.)  It was amazingly quite place; especially for a place like Varanasi. One would only remember the chaos, and noise of the streets about Varanasi – strange mystic environment that would fit in well with the stereo types of the old western world would imagine about India.

But here was a place where you really hear the sound of the river drifting by. People minding their own business, and no funny tourists taking pictures of them.
